Dear Sir

      I refer you to my Letter of the 6th. inst. I have now to inform you of the Death of Geo. Robson a Life in the Leases of Kilhope & Welhope & Lintzgarth under the Bishop of Durham, which Lease was renewed in Jan.y 1802 when Thos. Bayldon was inserted in the Room of the late Richd. Brooks, I was desirous at the same time of exchanging the Life of Geo. Robson for the Life of your Son Wentworth, but the Bishop would not consent to an Exchange.   The Sum paid for the Renewal (with the Fees of Office) amounted to £195-16-7 but the Lease has not been sent to me, owing I believe to the Advice of Mr. Williamson &c. who recommended that those Leases be granted to some Person in Trust, who should execute a Declaration for the Purpose; it now becomes necessary that the Bishop or his Agent should be applied to, to know the Terms on which he would consent to a Renewal of those Leases, by putting a new Life in the place of Geo. Robson deceased.-

      As Mr. Bowns will be in Town about this time, he will be a very proper Person to transact that Business, I possibly may not be thought eligible, & indeed it is my Wish not to have any further Transaction with his Lordship.-

      Nothing further has been done in the Lead Trade since I wrote to you.
