Thos Rd Beaumont Esqr M.P. NewC 28th Decr 1795 Portman Square London Dear Sir Since I wrote to you I have been favoured with your letter of the 24th inst with two Bills; the Post Office & the Bakers Bill; I cannot form a judgement as to the necessity etc of the former, The Bakers (as I mentioned in a former letter) I am confident will not answer the purpose, & nothing short of a compulsatory law will have the desired effect; as a proof of it, the Millers & Bakers are already taking the advantage of it, without the Publick having any benefit in the price, or the Assize. I send you enclosed Mr Hopper Williamson’s opinion respecting Mr Stackpole’s demand, & likewise a Bond of Indemnity to for you to execute; which may be made use of in case of necessity & which you will please to return to me when executed _ I enclose you Mr Ingham’s Bill on account of your Regiment; he has likewise demands on Majr Pleydell & Capt Stead & wishes to know if they are to be included in the Regimental Accounts. One of the Transports with French Emigrants overset the other day in Shields Harbour, two or three of them were drowned, the rest with difficulty were saved & reembarked in another Transport I am with respect Yours etc J.E.B
