Dr Sir	In Ans[we]r to your last Letter I send you annex’d a Calculation of the Amount of the late Sales of Lead as near as I can form a Judgement. I wish it was in my power to make a larger Sale; but at present we have not any demand.

Mr Heron received Mr Skeltons letter and I had some difficulty in prevailing on him to draw up a state of the Case respecting the Halls & Co he had a delicacy abo[u]t it thinking that Mr Skelton would do it, but I endeavoured to satisfy him that it was expected from him, he has promised me to do it & to have it revised by Mr Williamson before it be laid before one of the most eminent Counsel. I had the favor of Mrs Beaumont’s Lre [Letter] and am happy to find that she approves of my Answer to Mr James Lees Application. I am still confin’d but my Leg is now almost well and I expect to get abroad tomorrow. I am etc J.E.B

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
