Dear Sir	I am favoured with your Letter of the 5th inst and am glad to find you got well home.  The Venison arrived safe & in good Order, for which Mrs Beaumont & you will please to accept my best thanks.  I observe what you say respecting the poor Sufferers at Redburn and I shall desire Mr Hunter to give them the Sums agreeable to your directions.

	Inclosed you have a Copy of Messrs Lancaster & Cos Lre [Letter], no notice is yet given of a Meeting of the Creditors of Hall & Co but it is expected, its said that they are settling their Books and preparing a State of their Affairs to lay before their Creditors.

	Inclosed I send you a Copy of the Opinion of Mr Williamson respecting the Weardale Lead Mines being subject to be rated to the poor, from which you will please to observe that he thinks that the Composition paid by you to the Bishop of Durham for the Lot Ore and that to the Rector of Stanhope for the Tithe Ore, will be subject to be rated; this being the Case I imagine that you will think it advisable to submit to it without Litegation.

	I observe what you say respecting the sale of Lead and I shall follow your directions, I inclose a Copy of a Lre [Letter] from Messrs Wilkinson and the Resolutions of the Meeting at Matlock; no offers have been made to me from the London Houses, but I am well informed that their Stocks are very small and of course they must soon come to Markett.  Mr C Blackett has paid £5000 on Acct of Lead sold him & inclosed I send you his Bills on London for the same, The Reciept of which you will please to acknowledge.
