Mr Darwin Hatton Street Newcastle June 18th 1773 London Sir I reced your Letter of the 7th & 12th instt the former inclosing your Receipt for £291 on Accot of your quarterly payments to the 30th instt the latter inclosing my Bill on you to Sir Edwd Blackett for £509 which you have paid - This will keep our Accot regular as the £800 was not charged to your Accot. Inclosed you have a Bill for £157-10-0 being for one Half Composition for the Tithe ore of Weardale Lead Mines due to the Rector of Stanhope 22d July next - You will please to pay Mr Thurlow this Sum and Send me his Rect as usual I observe what you say with respect to Mr Naters and I find that we must make Application to some one of the Creditors for the Information that we want in this Affair You will hear from Sr Wr Blackett - he went for Yorkshire on Monday last & returns the end of this Month - Mr Richmond is better and sets forward for Buxton tomorrow I hope the Journey & the Waters may be of Service to him I am etc J.E.B. £157-10-0 Newcastle Bank 18th June 1773 One Month after date pay to the Order of John Erasmus Blackett Esqr One hundred and fifty seven pounds Ten shillings Value received For Bell Cookson Carr Widdrington & Self Jos Saint To Messrs Hallifax Mills Glyn & Mitton London Pay the Contents to Mr William Alvey Darwin or Order Value in Accot John E Blackett No 893
