Mr Darwin Sleaford Lincolnshire Newcas 27th Decr. 1777 Sir Your favour of the 11th instant I received and observe your Reason for not giving a Receipt in full for all Int[e]rest due on the Bonds as you had not at that Time settled your Accounts with Sir John Trevelyan This is chiefly to acquaint you that the Mrs Dalstones have made a Claim of both the Annuities left them in the Codicils to the late Sir Walter Blacketts Will I understand Sir John Trevelyan has consented That the Codicils be laid before the Attorney General & to abide by his Opinion. I think it is very plain That it was not Sir Walter Blacketts Intention to leave two Annuities to one person it is probable you may hear from Sir John on this Subject. P.S. About two Years ago some Deeds relating to Langrigg in Cumberland were sent to you by the Direction of Sir Walter Blackett Pray were they sent back in the Box with the other Writings. I am etc J E B.
