Sir     Inclosed you will receive three Bills of this date drawn by Messrs. Bell Cookson & Co on Messrs. Castell Whately  & Powell    One at 30 days Date for Two Hundred and seventy Pounds to make good your quarterly and other paym[en]ts on Sir Walter Blacketts Accot. from the 31st Decemr. to the 31st March next   A Bill at twenty days date for One Hundred and fifty seven Pounds ten shillings for one half the Composition for Weardale Tithe Ore due to the Revd. Dr Thurlow the 22nd inst _ The other Bill for Five Hundred Pounds at Thirty days date is to pay one half years interest on Sir Walter Blackett’s Bond to Sir Edwd. Winnington due the 6th Feby. next    Please acknowledge the Receipt of these Bills & when the two latter Sums are paid to send me the Receipts     The annuity which Sir Walter Blackett was so kind to grant me will for the future be received here     Sir Walter Blackett is very well & is at Wallington  I wish you many happy Returns of the Season and am               John E. Blackett   

P.S.  as I shall be from home next Week you will please to acquaint Mr Richmond with the receipt of the Bills

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
