Mr Jno Grey

Sir being disapoynted by a Naiybor who promesd to pay me £50 at London but since hath taken a Fright: I desire you theirfore to pay unto Mr Randolph or order the sume of Fifty pounds I I Shall thankfull repay it you here I have writ to him to call on you for it not else but My service to you and your wife not questioning but that you will pay it for her who is you friend & servant

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
