Letter – Martin Morrison to Charles Bowns – 14 Nov 1807

      I am favored with your letter of the 9th inst and have forwarded by the Mail Coach which conveys this, the additional Account you desire. You will please to observe that this Acc[ount] is forwarded on a computed Value of Ore per Bing according to the Price of Lead at the time, which is the only method We could adopt from the great difficulty and length of time necessary, to obtain certain information of the prices of Ore in years so remote, if indeed they could be obtained at all. I hope to see Alderman Blackett tomorrow and that he will be enabled to go through the Acc[oun]ts up to the Year 1791, and a copy of what has been prepared for you, shall be presented to him with the offer of Crawhall’s assistance in the way you  recommend.

	Mr Crawhall had forwarded to Mr Chisholm an Account stating Profits arising from the Weardale Mines of the Bishop’s Lot and Rectors Tithe Ore had been paid in kind, but as it goes no further than the year 1790 you will probably consider this information incomplete, and augment it by the documents in your possession.

	I have heard that Mr Mowbray the Bishop’s assistant in the Suit is gone to London.
