Dear Sir,

The price of Gunpowder having been reduced on the 26th Inst to £5 pC<wt> with 10 pCent <due> on 12 Mo[nths] Cred[it] I take this opportunity to express my hope that Messrs Peyon & Co will Conform to those terms for the Gunpowder required for the Use of Colonel Beaumont’s Mines, so long as the same may continue – I am etc	MM

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
