      I am honoured with your letter of the 30 Ultan acknowledgement of which would never have been made but for the expectation of receiving another from you upon the subject of the Bishop’s demand for the renewal of a Life in the Weardale Lease etc to which, permit me, to request your early attention, in <immoloriation> of the necessary steps to be taken for the Trial, should it not be deemed expedient to comply with the Bishops Proposal.    

      Mr Chisholm is returned to London, he previously called upon Alderman Blackett, who could not recollect the conversation with Mr Emm at Durham, but was positive, that what was said could not influence the Bishop and strictly adhered to his former assertion of never having said that the composition offered was the full value of the Lot Ore.

	I have this day remitted Sir R. C. Glyn Bt & Co Mr C Blacketts Bill on <F> Preston & Sons for £3782-15-0 which will fall due the 10th February  next, and when the Lead, of the late Sales is weighed off, will obtain Bills for the amount and instantly remit them; but two months may elapse before so large a quantity can be shipped. The Enclosed Cash Account will show the state of Funds here at the end of last month, which I fear will require assistance, as the Tax upon Property for the Weardale Mines amounting to £2855-10-4 may be called for immediately.
