I have the Honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of yesterdays date, and cannot on the grounds you so considerately mention, have any objection to meet Mr Fenwick. – In the offer I made on Friday for the Tythe Ore of Stanhope, it was with the intention of excluding any Statement of Accounts or Representations which by possibility might expose, as in the case of the Bishop of Durham, Colonel & Mrs Beaumont to serious Responsibilty. – I have no authority to do more; but shall take an opportunity of laying your Letter before Mrs  Beaumont who will be in Newcastle in the early part of  next week. – I am etc  MM

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
