John Miles Esq Newcastle 11th July 1808 Bishopgate Street London I am this day favored with your Letter of the 8 instant in reply beg to inform you that the whole of WB Lead for Sale this year will I apprehend not exceed 20,000 Pieces and that I cannot at this moment say that it will be in my power to deliver that quantity in October and November, much depending upon the state of the weather and the effect it may have upon the Roads so as to allow the Carriage of Lead from the Mines continuing to so late a period of the year. The last price for Lead here was £26 per fo[dder] of 21 Cwt six months Credit and on Saturday last I engaged to accept £28 per fo[dder] for 5,000 pieces of common including 1/10th Slag to be determined by return of Post from London & I do expect the price will still further advance. I shall be happy to hear from you at all times & am Sir etc MM
