The 200 p[ie]ces Leed this day by mee Shipped aboard yo[u]r Vessell; when please God you arrive att London deliver to Mr Hum[phrey]: Willett and Company Merchants In London; noe more att present; onely pray observe the Order of   M:B:

1. The Coastal Port Record book for Newcastle (National Archives Kew E190 196/8) record for 16 November 1676: ‘Ship name: Sam[uell]: of London; Master: W[illia]m Ward; Goods: xl [40] case glasse, xij [12] fothers and an half lead’. That weight would correspond to 200 pigs of cast weight 10 stone each.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
