The Coastal Port Record book for Newcastle (National Archives Kew E190 196/8) record for 16 November 1676: ‘Ship name: Sam[uell]: of London; Master: W[illia]m Ward; Goods: xl [40] case glasse, xij [12] fothers and an half lead’. That weight would correspond to 200 pigs of cast weight 10 stone each.
