Ravensworth Castle April 13th 1740 To Mr Woodhouse, Inclosed in Mr Maul’s Letter Sir Our Accot. for the year 1738 has been lying before Mr Hunter near Twelve Months in order to have fix’d a Method to Settle it in; & lately we have reced a Forme which we cannot by any means think a proper one, as the Rents and money reced. are carryed to different times, at so great a distance, we have therefore wrote to Mr Hunter this day desiring he will allow the accot. to be in the Shape we putt it, with the Addition of the Arrears putt down Pticularly on the face of the Accot. for there wou’d many very great Inconsistances arise, by carrying the Rents only to March & the Receivings forward to June following. Our accot. which we have made up in Books ready to produce on any Occasion are made up to Xmas, so that upon that and many other accots. we desire You will do your good Offices to forward the Settling of ‘em to that time and in Shape abovementioned. You have had a good deal of trouble in this Affair, & as You will have more, we have desired Mr Maule to make you a Suitable Gratuity, wch we hope You will accept of, our Compliments attend all Friends and we are Sir Yours &c Nicho’ Walton Hugh Boag PS Mr Maule will Shew you, if Mr Hunter does not, what we have wrote him on this Subject.
