Ravensworth Castle May 18. 1739 To Mr James Wood Dear Sir I have Inclosed sent you a Certificate shewing what money was remitted you in the last year out of the Rents & Profitts of the Derwentwater Estate, but I find I cannot Certifie that the £1000 was not reced. by you till January as the Bills which make it up were all due before that time – Mr Maule must I apprehend be able to give you such a Certificate as you want to shew that the £1000 was not reced. till january. I am sorry I cannot doe it in the way you desired it, but hope that which I have Inclosed you, with what you may have from Mr Maule will answer the same end. I gott well home to my family last Tuesday & Since that wee have drunk your good health & all our good friends at Greenwich to whom pray my kind Service. Walton This is to Certifie whom it may Concern that there has been remitted to Mr James Wood Deputy Treasurer of the Royall Hospitall for Seamen at Greenwich the Sum of Two Thousand Five hundred and Twenty Seven pounds & Six pence, out of the Rents & Profitts of the Derwentwater estate from the 31 December 1737 to the 31st of December 1738.
