To Mr James Wood



Sir

      Your Letter of the 29 of December last came to hand in course with Mr Saml. Arthurs Bill on Samuel Phillips inclosed for £15, in lieu of which as above you have a Bill for the value on demand wch we are sory you had not before, but when your letter came to hand it chanced that we were going abroad and so it slipt our memory which we hope you will excuse.

      This day Mr Boag writes to Colonel Liddell to desire him to pay you the money back which he recd at the Board, and to take up his receipt as you desire which no Doubt but he will doe on Receipt of Mr Boags letter, and we are with kind Respects to your self and Family and to all our good Friends at Greenwich  &c

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
