Ravensworth Castle. March 15. 1740 To John Airey Esqr. Sir Last Post brought us a Minute from the Board requiring a fresh security from us in the room of the <pa[sse]d> Collonel & Mr Corbett was so good as write us at the same time that he would name it to you. We have this day talked the affair with Mr Ellison who is of opinion that Sir Wm Middleton will be the proper person to apply to, and therefore we send you Inclosed a Letter addressed to him, which we begg the favour of you to hand to him and to use your Interest with him in our favour - We hope he will have no Objection but if he should we make no Doubt but you Can remove it. Sir Henrye would be likewise verry kind if he would name it to Sir Willm., which we begg you will hint to him if he’s in Towne and Could you prevail upon him to Wait upon the board along with Sir William and only enquire howe we have Executed our Trust, We hope it would appear to his satisfaction & his appearing there and saying any general thing for us would be of Infinite use. As this is a Matter of Consequence wee will rely on your kind Offices in it which shall bee always duely acknowledged by Sir Yours &c Walton & Boag PS. If we should fail in getting Sr Wm. Middleton we think Mr Bright would serve us & if you see it Necessary be so good as make application to him on our behalfe
