Sir

       Though I have not yet heard from Mr Fryer I take it for granted that he will be with us upon the 28th Inst and also the 29th if necessary and I have upon that idea written to Mr John Dickinson of Lowbyer and have desired him to have everything ready for proceeding with the Business and to consult with Mr Dickinson of LoveLadyShield I have no doubt the Stakes and two Mallets were sent by James Johnsons Waggon from Newcastle yesterday with some square Iron hoops to slip on to the tops of the Stakes to prevent their splitting as driving. I have given particular directions about the laying down the stakes and the number of Persons who are to attend us and have desired Messrs Dickinson to consider of providing some thing so as that in case of meeting with Stone in the driving of any of the Stakes we may be able to overcome the difficulty that may arise upon such an occasion. I fully intend being at Hexham on Tuesday next and will be glad to have the purchase of Mr Gibson compleated that Day and therefore will you be so good as desire Mr Gibson to be prepared accordingly? I expect to be at Hexham on Tuesday by Noon. The number of Stakes ordered are 100 containing 37 ½ feet cubic measure 85 ordered to Alston & 15 for Langley Mill & I trust the Wood is of the best kind having left the choice to Mr Thomas Harvey the Raff Merchant who happened to have a Cargo just arrived from Norway

PS Since writing the above I have rec[eive]d a Letter from Mr Fryer who will attend on the 28th and he says he has wrote to you; and I have also rec[eive]d a letter from Mr Harvey acquainting me that the Stakes Mallets and Hoops were forwarded By James Johnsons Waggon yesterday.
