Mr John Dickinson Farnacres 18th June 1793 I have rec[eive]d your Letter of the 15th Inst w[i]th five Proposals and two acc[oun]ts of the quantity of Ore raised last year. I return one of the Proposals to be Witnessed by you and if you did not see the Persons sign I desire you will get them to acknowledge that the signatures of the Proposal are their own and then Witness and return it. The Name as it stood in the Proposal was Rodderupe Cleugh; it sh[oul]d have been Rodderup Cleugh and I have so altered it. The Acc[oun]ts of ore raised last year are now duplicates of each other. Yours was right. I am glad you give so good an Acc[oun]t ab[ou]t Blagill x Vein and Crag Green Middle Vein. Mr Addison writes me that he is to be at Alston Thursday Evening to meet Mr Bird about settling the damages at Nattrass. Mr Addison writes as follows ‘Before I left Alston I particularly requested that if White took any of the Galloways not to molest or prevent him but to send over to me and that I would enter into a Bond to the Sheriff and send over a warrant to Replevy them.’ This advice of Mr Addisons has been neglected as appears from the conduct of the Carriers who rescued the Galloways taken by White and Yeats. I desire you will follow Mr Addisons directions in future and you must request him to give you instructions in writing how you are to act and I beg youll take care to make the Carriers sensible how they ought to behave and if they act properly the Commissioners and Governors of Greenwich Hospital will certainly defend them but if they by their imprudence bring on difficulties they must defend themselves I desire you will let Mr A Dixon see this letter. I am Your h[um]ble Serv[an]t Nich Walton Junr
