To Mr John Holmes. Farnacres 12th September 1773 Sir Your favor of the 31st came duely to hand but I could not conveniently write to you before this time and therefore desire you be so good as excuse my being so late in answering it. We shall have a pretty large Cake ready by about the middle of October which I will send to you and desire you will fix the price upon its arrival as the Markett shall then answer and so as to leave you a proper profit. When I heard from Mr Smeaton which was upon the 3d instant he was very well but much fatigued with his engagements in Scotland. Mr Smeaton proposed to set out for Ireland on Thursday or Friday last but at the same time he observed it may be the 15th inst before he leaves Scotland.
