Ravensworth Castle May 13th 1740 To Mr J. Maule at Greenwich Dr Sr. Since we reced. your last kind favour we have had the pleasure of one from Mr Hunter & Another from Mr Woodhouse, who both seem to think no Inconvenience can Arise to us by bringing forward the Receivings to the 30 June in Each year, Altho the Rents are only carried to the Martinmas preceeding. We have therefore wrote to each a Letter this day acquainting them that we will prepare the Accot. in the Manner Mr Hunter has directed for the year 1738 & that for the year 1739 as soon as the time Expires to which the receivings are brought down viz to the 30 June 1740. We will send that for 1738 in a few posts to you & beg youle loose no time in having Mr Hunters inspection upon that so it may be sent back to us to make affadavitts and put it in its proper Channell of being pass’d at the next declaration. What we observe you have given to Mr Woodhouse we Intirely approve of and will take care to returne you it with what other Expences accrue by postage & in Transacting this affaire, which we doubt not but youle give all possable dispatch and youll greatly oblige Dear Sr. your very Hble Serts N.
