Ravensworth Castle. Jan. 16.1740/1 To Mr Maull Dear Sir We reced. yours of the 8 Jan. in Due Course in which we observe Your good office with regard to our last Acct. Ending June 1740 for which give Us leave to say we think our selves much obligedto you. The Vouchers shall be forwarded by the Carryer tomorrow directed to Mr Horn who will desire to forward them to you & it will give us great pleasure that all is done so as we have our Quietus at the Next Declaration for both Accots. We are in your Debt for what you gave to Mr Woodhouse as well as the Yearly payment to your self due at Christmas & we are likewise further in Mr Woodhouses Debt & to your Clark As therefore we are desireous to pay all till Christmas last we must desire you will give us <Such …..> what is proper to be done with respect to them and then on rec.t of yours we will send you a bill for the whole. For the time to Come we will propose making Mr Woodhouse & your Clarks an annual payment to Commence last Christmas so that you will freely be soe good as give us your Advice thereon. If there has been any other Sums disburst by you please to lett us know that we may send you the whole. As to the undertaking to furnish the Hospitall with Coales we cannot at present tell what to say to it, as Freights Vary According to the price Coales bears in London, but we are considering of it, and will give the board all the satisfaction we can therein.
