To Mr Maule



Dear Sir

      We have Reced. three of your favours which are all unansw<er>ed they are rep[eated Instances of your Friendship for which we begg leave to return you our  hearty thanks.

      We are greatly obliged to Mr Hunter for the Dispatch he has given our accot. & the Satisfaction he is so good as express in the p[er]usal of them, it is you may be Assured a great deal of pleasure to us & we pray tender him our Sincere & hearty Thanks, as we do to you & Mr Woodhouse for your good offices.

      The Queries you have herein answered which we hope will be Satisfactory.  We Cannot find any Mistake in the Ballance of our last Cash accot., so that if any Mistake be it can be no other than in fals[e] Coppying; therefore to sett it right we send you herein a fresh Coppy, on Comparing of which with the Original you will readily find it out.

      Herewith we send you a Certificate of what Money was Remitted by Us to Mr Wood between the 31 Dec. 1739 & the 31 Dec. 1740 .

      We will send the Mustard as desired & what worse will your beef eat at Greenwich if its rubbd over with a little; and as we are going to Keswick we will endeavour to gett you Some black lead we hope you very Merry at the Salutation & wish we had been with you.

      If Mr Hunter Inclines to have the Accot. made up to mayday in future we have no objection, but by doing that you will please to observe three half years Rent must be included in the first accot. and it will Swell the Arrears greatly unless the receivings are Carryed on to Xmas.

      The Mustard we intend to send by the George this Voyage; there will be Seven pound of it, which pray dispose of as follows. Mr Hunter, Mr Corbett, Mr Cowburne, Mr Wood, Mr Woodhouse, Mr Horne & your Self each one pound which we hope you will all accept of & we are Dr Sir
