Dear Sir

      As we are again in want of Bone Ashes we must beg of you to desire Mr Finch to let us have the remaining 100 Casks as soon as he possibly can and if you have not paid him yet for those we have got be so good as let that be done with all convenient dispatch.   We are with best wishes to yourself and Mrs Salter

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
