To Mr Joseph Pearson 					Ravensworth Castle December 20th . 1741 



	The Board of Directors for Greenwich Hospital have been informed that great damage is done to the Derwentwater Woods under your Inspection, which we hope there is no just grounds for; if there has been any thing of that kind done to be sure you are greatly blamable. We desire you will on rec[eip]t hereof lett us know if any thing Irregular has been committed and that you will from time to time use your Vigilance & prevent what in you lyes any Idle practices for the future. Pray let us hear soon from you & you’l oblige

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
