Letter – Nicholas Walton to Mr Sample – 10 Feb 1792

Mr Sample

       I have rec[eive]d yours of this day and think it to be impossible for us to allow J Nevin having Peacock house Farm unless he will join the Chatts in a Security to us for payment of the Arrear up to the 22nd November last upon or before the 1st day of May or at the next Recet at Haydon Bridge rather & therefore the time of payment sh[oul]d be not later than the 25th April and Nevin sh[oul]d give another security himself for the half year Rent which will become due 12 May 1792 but if any difficulty sh[oul]d arise as to this the best way will be to let all alone till Dukesfield Pay and do as you propose. When you got a Recet for £3.6 you sh[oul]d certainly have settled the Acc[oun]t between them and you and pd them the 6s & it is quite wrong that you did not do so.

       There will be no objection to Mary Errington letting the Farm to a good tenant but she must Administer if she has not done so already. I suppose she must have done so as she had no right to sell anything till she did Administer
