Mr Ruddock Farnacres 7th Oct[obe]r 1793 Dear Sir I have rece[ive]d your letter of yesterday inclosing the Application to the owners of the Tithes in Hexhamshire which I shall send to Mr Caton this Morning. The Allendale Proprietors are certainly infatuated & I have some fears that several in Hexhamshire are no better. I see with concern that there is great Prospect of Experience of Litigation relative to some of the Claims that have been made for the Hexhamshire & Allendale Division. It will be impossible for me to give any particular Attention to them till the week beginning with the 11th Novem[be]r. & it is therefore my wish that there should be a Special Meeting of the Committees at Hexham for Hexhamshire and Allendale to begin on the 11th of Novem[be]r at Ten o’Clock in the morning and to continue the succeeding days till the whole of the Claims are fully considered. Your Assistance upon the occasion will I am certain be very useful & I doubt not you will think it proper between this time & the 11th of Novem[be]r to consult with the Committees preparatory to the Special Meeting. The matter as to Incroachments is of great magnitude in this Business & I am glad to hear that it is the intention of the Commissioners to have a thorough Examination of them upon the Ground. At the Special Meeting it will be absolutely necessary to have Mr Fryer to attend with the Plans not only of the Inclosed Lands but of the Common as without them it will be impossible to form a proper Judgement relative to the Claims. As soon as I get Mr Catons signature or Answer I will return you the Application concerning the Tithes in Hexhamshire. I am Dear Sir Your obliged h[um]ble serv[an]t Nich Walton Junr
