      You are desired to send directed to Mr Hollier at M[es]rs Pearsons Westgate Newcastle 14 pound weight of Grey Slag such as is on a Medium produced from our Work & take care that it is real Grey Slag without Ore as sometimes there may be sticking to it.  The Quantity is for a Tryal by a set of Gentlemen who we understand are setting up a Refining work opposite to,Blaydon, and upon the issue of this Tryal the Company will make an offer. We are

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
