Ravensworth Castle Decem. 4th 1739 To Mr Richd. Horne Dear Sir I Reced. Yours in answer to Mr Boags of 23d Nov. last in relation to Thos. Piggs Memorials, touching the Farmes held by John Atkinson of Haydon Bridge, & Inclosed I send you an exact Copy of the Instrument which I sent Mr Boag 19 Decem. 1736 as it was then signed as a Copy by me, so that after it receives the Sanction of your indorsing it will lye as Snugg in it its proper place, as if it had been there ever since, & without damage to anybody. Atkinson has never shewn nor I dare say cannot give any other Testimony of his Right, yet notwithstanding I verily believe he has a just right to a Term, but what that term is seems to be the only difficulty to find out. We have always & do believe it Expires in 1752. You were exceedingly kind in sending us this Intimation wch is a fresh Instance of your Sincere Friendship. Our Lead Mine Lease is not yett come from Scotland, but as I shall be in Alstonmoor Lead mining in a little time I hope to have some tidings to give you of it at my returne. My Complim.t Attends Mrs Horne & Your Fireside & all Friends & I am for Mr Boag & Selfe Dr Sir Yours &c N.W. PS The George is come in, so that Your Oates & Mr Corbetts, will be tomorrow or next day putt on Board of him. pray acquaint Mr Corbett with it.
