Dear Sir

      We inclose you a Sketch showing the Situation of the Roads and Carriers Farms, between Hexham and Langley Mill, and some Memorandums how the Lead Carriers are circumstanced and desire you will attend the first Meeting of the Commissioners of the Glenwelt Road and endeavour to get every thing so fixed that the Hosple. Lead Carriers may have no further interruption. We are etc

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
