To Mr Simpson at Penreth

As the Court at Keswick is to be holden the 11th and the 12th at Thornthwait we propose holding Alston Court before and therefore desire you will Appoint it to be held the Ninth when we will meet you, so as to goe with you to Keswick the Tenth. We Represented to the Board how usefulo you were in Settling the Fines and in return had their Order to make your Gratuity up to Five Guineas which shall be Done at Meeting. Our Complem[en]ts Attend Mrs Simpson and we are Sir

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
