We are going to Alston to make a Pay, and will return to Hexham next Friday Evening, when we should be glad to see you at the Phenix at Mr Parkers, or if it be more convenient for you, on Saturday Morning the 8th of April next, wee will stay there till after Dinner. Collonel Liddell has a Suit depending with one Watson, whether there may be any Lead Mines in an estate called Bilton Park, near Knarsbrough or not, and in order to form the best judgement thereof we have recommended you as one of the most judicious in that way, to take a view of the estate, along with Mr Watson, Mr Pantoon, Mr Emmerson & Mr John Stephenson, and according to the form of law you have a Summons by the bearer. The Collonel has applied to your principals, for their Leave to Permitt you to doe him this favour, and we expect you will be informed thereof from them in a Post or two, and do not doubt of your readiness to do him this favour, and we are Dear Sir or Madam: Your most Hble Servts Nicholas Walton
