Dr Sir

      We reced yours of the 7th Jan. Inst with the Boards Minuits of that date which we duly observe.

      As to the Right of Simon Drydon upon Grindon Common by Virtue of his Estate of Moss Kennall we will take care to lay before the Board a true State of it as farr as we can but from the Information we have had it has always appear’d to us that he had no right at All. A P.ticular Accot. Shall be likewise laid before the board of the Whole Expence Attending a Ship Load of Coales of about 100 London Cha[ldro]ns but this cannot at all be reduced to a Certainty as the freight vary According to the prices Coales bear at London Markett.

      Inclosed herein you will receive the MoorMast.rs Acct  Ending at Michaelmas & Christmas last, of the mines at work in the Derwentwater Estate & those lying unwrought, and likewise you will receive herein the Years Accot. of the Dues of Lead Ore in the Derwentwater  Estate from Mich.s 1739 to Mich. 1740 which were sold to the late Geo. Liddell Esq. & P.tners amounting to £ 995-11-8. And also we Inclose you our Cash Accot. ending 31 December last by which there is a Ball.ce of £ 461-11-4 ½ in favour of the Hospitall.  We are
