To William Corbett Esq.                    				Ravensworth Castle April 19th 1743



Sir

       We were yesterday Servd with Supean.rs [sub poenas] at the Suit of Sir John Webb to appear in the Court of Exchequer the 20 Inst which we begg leave to lay before you & hope the board will give directions to Mr Radley to appear for us as easily as he can for as it is not in our power to appear upon the 20th having notice only yesterday about Noon, the Sooner it is done afterwd the better.

       The Tennants of Dilston & Lorbottle have been all sent by which it will be no difficultee to Come at the Value of the Tyths wou’d it not be better to Comperimise the matter therefore,  than to Suffer them to  <neover> after an Expensive Lawsuit but this we Submitt to the Board’s Consideration & are

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
