To Mr Wm Corbett Esqr Ravensworth Castle July 20th 1737 Sir In Obedience to the Boards Commands we have Inclosed sent you an accot of what Repaires are most necessary on the most proper parts of the Estate late Darwentwr to be begun with & wch we hope may be done this Season tho’ it is so farr advanced that we doubt of Compleating all in the Inclosed Accot. All the parts of the Darwentwater Estate (to put the housing into Tennantable condition) are almost in Equal Necessity, but the reason why we make Choise of those in the Inclosed Accot is that in such parts where the Hospitall’s Estates will furnish Wood we would deferr till next Summer, as the Bark (wch is of Considerable Vallue) would be lost now, & in such places as we now propose to begin to Repaire we will be obliged to buy firr Timber whether begun now or at another time There is Sevll Tennts in the other parts of the Estate that cannot dispence wth out Some Repaire & in such places we will be obliged to doe Small things pursuant to the Boards Former Order, but we hope no place will much exceed £10. The Repaires on Newlands and Whittonstall must be done with firr wood & part of those Repaires must if possible be done this Season which being agreed to by the General Court have left ‘em out of the Inclosed. We Shall be ready to prosecute all the Boards Commands on these affaires so Soon as we have the Honr to Receive ‘em & with the Utmost care & Frugallity and we are Sir Your most Obedt Hble Servts Nichos Walton Hugh Boag
