Ravensworth Castle June 8 1740 William Corbett Esqr. Sir Inclosed is Severall agreements made with Several Workmen for building & Repairing Housing on the Derwentwater Estate amounting to £494 which please to lay before the Board for their Confirmation. Inclosed is also our Cash Accot. for last Month by which please to Observe there is a ballance due from us in favour of the Hospital of £773:16:2¾ . The Commissioners are Threatned to be presented for Hartburn Chancell being in bad repair, the Expence of Repairing which (Exclusive of New casting & some additional Lead) by Computation amounts to about £45. This Chancell has always been repaird by the Derwentwater family as they Enjoy’d the great Tyths. Please lay this before the Board for their directions therein. we are Sir Yr most Hble Servts Nich. A Milkhouse 12 foot long by 7 foot broad a Stable 13 foot Long by 15 foot wide and a floor of Deal over it for a Granery, A Barne 24 foot long by 16 foot wide and 11 foot high, a Byer 20 foot long by 16 foot Broad, the whole to be peformed in a Workmanlike manner he finding all Except Leading for £90 For Pulling Down the Housing in George Thompsons Possession Building a new house 18 foot long by 15 foot wide and 14 foot high, A Milkhouse 12 foot by 7 foot broad, A Stable 13 foot by 15 foot and a floor of Deal over it for a Granery, a Barne 24 foot long by 16 foot wide and 11 foot high Thatching and Pointing a Byer.
