Sir

      Colonel Liddell who was so kind as recomend us to the Comm.rs of Greenwich Hospitall as Receivers for the Derwentwater Estate, was likewise so good as Enter into a bond for £1500 as Security for the faithfull performance of the trust reposed in us. And Sir Henry Liddell was also so kind as be bound for the same Sum. The Comm.rs have thought it necessary to Call upon us for a Security in the roome of Collonel Liddell , which is the reason why we give you this trouble, desiring the favour of you Sir to become bound for us in his Stead — In this Sir you will runn no hazard and as our having a Member along with Sir Henry Liddell will be of Singular Credit to us, we hope you’ll the more readily doe us the favour, in which you will lay us under very great Obligations.  But give us leave Sir to assure you the obllgation shall be allways with gratitude acknowledged & where we have it in our power to make you any returnes, none shall be more in your Inerests than
