To Sir Willm. Middleton



Sir

      We took the liberty, to give you the trouble of a letter dated the 15 Inst requesting the favour of you to become our Security as Receivers for the Derwentwater Estate in the room of Collonel Liddell deceased, which Mr Airey has wrote us, you are so Obliging as Consent to.  We begg Leave now Sr. to Acknowledge the favour & to return you Our Sincerest thanks; and to Assure you that it shall be our Care to transact that buisiness in Such a manner as never to be discredit to you. And as it shall be our Care to doe that, so it Shall likewise be to give you every Satisfaction of it that you shall from time to time require, either by Shewing you our Accts. or Quietus for Every Year, which we have hitherto taken care to have poss[esse]d regularly. We have Acquainted the Board with your Obliging favour, so that we Apprehend the Secretary will wait upon you with the Bond, if you dont befor leave the town, or he will send it to Mr Airey to be Executed in the Countery. On all Occasions Sr. we begg leave to Assure you, you may Command us   & we are

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
