      By Mr Blackett’s direction I have this day forwarded p[er] Leeds Coach directed for you at Bretton a Box containing W Bates’ Valuation of Mr & Mrs. Beaumont’s several Estates in this Country except some which cannot now be proceeded upon, the ground being covered with Snow) their Bankers Accot. up to 31st. Ulto.-Accots. of Contracts for Lead &c. to 31 Decr. last, several parcels of the Lead not being weighed off till Christmas was the cause of those Accounts being so long delayed. Mr Blackett has made Mrs. Beaumt. acquainted with the valuation &c being sent you, & purposed writing you today but is indisposed With the box is a small Parcel of Garden Seeds [note in margin at this point not deciphered] Mrs. Beaumt sent for p[er] Mr Deakin when in the No. by your taking the trouble of which you will oblige yours &c.  T..C..

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
