      Mr Blackett wrote to you in Jany last to request a Certificate of your good health, being at that time in treaty with the Lord Bishop of Durham for the insertion of one Life in Col. Beaumonts Leases of Kilhope, Welhope & Lintzgarth (in which you are a Life) in the place of the late Richard Brookes.  The treaty not being at that time compleated is the reason I again trouble you to request you will procure and send to me at this place a Certificate of your health signed by the Clergyman of your Parish. – We have reason to believe that the above business will be compleated shortly, and hope we will not be under the necessity of again troubling you on that subject, for some time

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
