Bretton 1st Oct 1798 Sir I had the honour of your letter which I would sooner have replied to had I not been on a tour in Scotland where your letter followed me. I am informed that some years ago Sir Edward Blackett had a promise from the late Sir Thomas Blackett of a Lease of Longage & Wall fell Colliery at the expiration of the Old Lease that Colliery being contiguous to his Estate & Lead Mine at Fallowfield which Promise on Application being made to me previous to the receipt of your letter I confirmed on which account I hope that you will excuse me for not complying with your request. I have the Honor to be Sir Your Most Obedient Humble Servant T.R.B Henry Errington Esq.
