<H.Chr> 6th 97. My dear Sir, I am exceedingly obliged to You for your repeated information respecting the Banks at N.Castle and feel very much for the very great inconvenience the County must have been put to, and most sincerely hope every thing will go on very well. I have had some conversation with Mr. Burdon about our pays, & hope that when the Bills get again in good train that we shall be enabled to make our pays in May – I most sincerely congratulate you on the very great event that has taken place in the capture of the Spanish [.....text hidden in crease of original document] Captn. Colingwood having been one; these Canals have given me very great uneasiness, for all the Hexham & Neighbouring places have been at me. The Bill is to be presented today by Mr. Grey, and I am desired to say that it will be opposed in all its Stages – I am much concerned that it should have come to this pass. I shall report the Ponteland <road> Bill to day. I have great pleasure in saying that Mrs. Beaumont & the Children are all very well – I beg my respects to Mrs Collingwood & Yourself – I am My dear Sir Most sincerely Yours – Tho. Rd. Beaumont.
