My dear Sir,

I have the Favor of Yours this Morning and am very sorry that you should be under the very disagreeable necessity of putting off the Pays, it is a thing which gives me infinite concern but how to remedy it, I can not say, I have this Morning seen Messrs. Burdon & Surtees on the Subject, they are most certainly anxious for every mode to be used for putting their House in negotiation again, but as this unfortunate demand for Money has so very generally prevailed the Bank either can not or is not able to put their Smaller notes in present circulation which makes this present inconvenience. I am to see them again in the Morning and will inform You of the result – I am My dear Sir

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
