Dear Sir,

I had a letter from Mr. Bent, informing me you was so obliging as to offer me a little Money, I shall be much obliged to you for it, for at present I am not determined whether I shall return this Winter, or no,  as some of my Friends wish me not. It will depend on circumstances, but I shall now determine very soon, but at all events a little Money, will be of service – I should wish to have the Money lodged in my Bankers Hands in London. 



I hope Mrs. Skelton and my little Friend, with the rest of your Family are well.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
