Dear Sirs,

      I have an application from Mr  Aldm Thompsons’s agent at this place to purchase 2000 p[iece]s Common Lead and altho’ I should at any other time refuse to sell Common without the usual portion of Refined. I offered him 1000 p[iece]s at £13 Six Mos Credit hoping to establish the price. This he refuses to give but will communicate with Mr Thompson. I have also had an application from Hull for Ref Lead. I imagine for exportation. All buyers are looking for an advance and generally admit that £13 and £13/10 must be submitted to.

P.S. On referring to your letter of 17 Jany I find you state that you have settled with Mr Parker that the Bills are to be from the 8th July only he wishes for the convenience of his payts to have one Months interest added, so as to make them fall due in March April & May. I considered the whole amount due from the 8 July, which would make two months Interest due on the second Bill and three on the third. If Mr Parkerwould pay the amount with interest of the three Bills when due into Glynns to Mr Bts credit with Batson’s in Cash it would answer our purpose quite as well as drawing Bills upon him. Please to suggest this to him.
