Finlay Hodgson 23rd July 1833 D[ea]r Sir I am in receipt of your letter of the 19th Inst advising of your having sold, two pieces of Silver & of payments of the net proceeds £ 567.1.11 after deducting £19.17.2 charged upon a former piece to Mr B[eaumon]ts credit with Messrs Glyn& Co as usual. I have this day forwarded by Jackson & Co Waggon to your address another piece of fine silver from Blagill Mill weight 1243 1/4 Ozs. As our cash balance with Messrs Batson& Co is considerable there is no need to draw on Mr W[ilia]m Parker & he may pay the am[oun]t of his a/c with Interest in Cash in October. I note your sale of 50 Casks Litharge to him at £14.10/- . I have sold 70 Casks at that price to Messrs Grace & Yallop. I do not think we can support more than 10/- above the price of Ref[ined] Lead for Litharge since there is so great competition in that Article. At that price it leaves a good profit. Your Six Months credit is a good arrangement. <…> well that the Co[mpan]y have agreed to do the same I am surprized to hear that Mr Key denies to some of the London Houses that he has made any purchase at £13-10/- & £14 indeed that he has made any purchase at all. Messrs <Mocaltor> & Goldsmith in deducting £90.17.2 have twice charged for the Carriage. Breakerage and Porterage. The sum to be deducted should have been £9.4.8. I am Sir BJ
