Sir   

      I received this afternoon the Favour of Yours of the 8th inst. and as you agree on the part of Colonel Beaumont to my Proposal to compound for the whole of my Tithe Ore on the Terms I mention’d (Viz.) Fifteen Hundred Pounds Pr. Annm. during my Possession or Enjoyment of the Rectory of Stanhope, Payable as described in my Late Agreement, to take place from the 11th of July last, this meets with my Approbation and I shall expect the same form of Agreement in every other respect as the late Agreement between Coln. Beaumont & me.

      As I purpose to stay at Seaton about a Fortnight, & to go from hence into Yorkshire, I shall be obliged if you will be so good as to forward the Agreement & Counterpart to me at this Place, & I will then execute both if the Form should correspond with the late Agreement, & will return the proper Counterpart to you at Newcastle by the Post from Stockton, or by any other Convenience that you may please to mention.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
