Inclosed you will receive a Bill drawn by Mess. Surtees Burdon & Co. on Messrs Barclays & Co. at One Month dated this day for Seventy Five Pounds One Shilling & Two Pence being in full for half a Y[ea]rs Rent due from T. R. Beaumont Esq. the 1st Feby next to the Lord Bishop of Durham for the Office of Moor Master of Weardale, with  1s/2d  for Acquit [an]ce of Duty.  Please to send a receipt for the same.     Sir,    Since my Annexed letter to you I have been favoured with your letter of the 16th Inst.  I have been so much indisposed as to confine me to the house since I had the pleasure of seeing you at this place untill this morning when I had some discourse with Mr Williamson & Mr Bell called on me.  Had I been in health I would certainly have attended the Meeting but in that case I could not have Acquiesced in the Question of a Division without there being an express Clause in the Bill that Col. Beaumont as Lessee under the Lord Bishop of Durham should not be subject to pay any Damages for Working etc in the Stinted Pastures.

   On that being consented to Col. Beaumont will not object to the Division & I shall acquaint his Agent at New House Mr Emerson with the same  _  I am sorry to hear that Mr Shaftoe should Address the Meeting in such indecent & very improper terms  _  As to Mr Wallace he is very troublesome but of very little consequence.
