Sir    I communicated the Contents of your Letters to Col. & Mrs. Beaumont who think that the Proposals that you make for your Tithe Ore are very high, for notwithstanding it may appear of greater Value to those who only see the Quantity of Ore raised, without considering that this Tithe Ore in being in the Hands of the lessee under an easy Composition, has been the Means of producing this Quantity by encouraging the Lessee to venture his Money; some Years ago when both the Compositions did not amount to £700 the late Sir Walter Blackett lost Money by the Weardale Mines and the considerable Increased Expence attending the working of them, when taken into Consideration will I hope induce you to accept of twelve hundred Pounds Pr. Annm for your Tithe Ore which I am empowered to offer you to which you will please to favour me with your Answer that I may be enabled to give Directions accordingly.    I am etc J. E. B.
